Stainless Steel 420 Sheets and Plates are composed of Carbon (0.15-0.40%), Chromium (12-14%), Manganese (up to 1%), Silicon (up to 1%), and trace amounts of Phosphorus and Sulfur (each ≤ 0.03%). This composition provides excellent hardness, wear resistance, and moderate corrosion resistance. Mechanically they offer a tensile strength of 515-700 MPa, yield strength of approximately 240 MPa, and an elongation of about 20%. These properties make 420-grade stainless steel suitable for applications requiring high strength and durability, such as cutting tools, fasteners, and industrial machinery parts, while maintaining adequate corrosion resistance in mildly corrosive environments.
